This July, the Ranch welcomed it first ever albino whitetail fawn. We are watching her closely and researching how to help her acclimate to the sunshine and unique terrain the ranch has to offer. Nonetheless, we are thrilled to have this newest addition to our herd.
Fun fact? Albinism is a recessive trait and must be received by the fawn's father and mother. According to John Bates, Wisconsin Northwoods naturalist and co-author of White Deer: Ghosts of the Forest, the chances of an albino deer being born are about 1 in 20,000!
